An International Summer

We are excited to follow the international adventures unfolding this summer for three of our DFP students! Those journeys are made possible through the 2026 Richter Scholarship, which supports outstanding students pursuing scholarly and creative projects that require travel. This year, MFA students Cole Kennedy and Katelyn Lacor and MA student Pun Pun Pattrakulchai were selected as 2026 Richter Scholars.

Lacor is creating a film that examines the enduring impact of Europe’s witch trials through a focused exploration of Scotland, where the persecutions reached particular intensity. Kennedy will travel to the Philippines to film and conduct additional research on his great-grandfather’s role in Japan’s surrender at the close of World War II. Pattrakulchai is following an independent sports media company as it navigates Singapore’s growing professional sports landscape, gaining insight into the region’s rapidly evolving sports industry.
