DFP Alum is Pulitzer Prize Finalist in Audio Reporting

Congratulations to Diane Hodson (MFA ’15) on being named a finalist in the Pulitzer Prize category for Audio Reporting!
Hodson served as senior story editor on the critically acclaimed podcast Hysterical, produced by Wondery and Pineapple Street Studios. The series investigates a mysterious illness that spread among high school girls in LeRoy, NY—an event some consider the most severe case of mass hysteria since the Salem Witch Trials.
Hysterical has garnered widespread recognition. Apple named Hysterical 2024’s “Show of the Year,” TIME ranked it first on its list of the “10 Best Podcasts of 2024,” and Spotify included it among the “Best New Shows of 2024.”
The Pulitzer category of Audio Reporting recognizes “a distinguished example of audio journalism that serves the public interest, characterized by revelatory reporting and illuminating storytelling.”
