Sheridan Joins Effort to Improve Newsroom Culture
Associate Professor of Practice and Coordinator of the MA Sports Media & Storytelling program, Chris Sheridan co-led a workshop this week aimed at improving the leadership and work culture inside newsrooms. Sheridan spoke at The Poynter Institute’s Leadership Academy for Women Working in Digital Media.
The presentation was part of a larger initiative, #UsToo: Building Trust in Newsrooms, by the leading journalism training and research organization Poynter Institute and Press Forward–a female-founded organization dedicated to improving leadership, the working environment in newsrooms and combating sexual harassment. Sheridan is one of the initiative’s Corporate Trainers and helped develop a curriculum on how to create safer work environments.
