Our students get plenty of red carpet festival experience.  From first-year projects to thesis films, student work regularly screens in regional, national and international film festivals.  Students leave the program with a track record of earning “Official Selections”and “Best Doc” wins in some of the best festivals in the country and the experience of representing their films through multiple  Q & A sessions.

In addition, our partnerships with the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and the RiverRun International Film Festival allow us to offer our students some unique festival experiences.  3rd year MFA students participate each year in the Full Frame Fellows Program.  Over the course of the four day festival, participating students have the opportunity to attend private master classes with legendary filmmakers, screen festival films, and participate in networking events. 3rd year students also serve as student jurors in the Documentary Features and Documentary Short categories at the RiverRun International Film Festival.
