DFP Professor of Practice Peter Gilbert will be honored at the 2014 Sundance FIlm Festival as part of its commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Hoop Dreams. The newly restored film will screen in the From the Collection program, 20 years after making its world premiere at the 1994 Festival.
“Hoop Dreams completely changed the way we experience documentary films and the stories they tell. And that profound impact is still being felt 20 years later,” said John Nein, Senior Programmer for the Sundance Film Festival.
Gilbert will join fellow filmmakers Steve James and Frederick Marx and subject Arthur Agee in a Q&A session following the January 20 screening.
We are thrilled for Peter and so proud to have him as part of our DFP team.
